Turkey has expanded its barrier-free tolling network with the activation of passive UHF RFID systems at the Akıncı station, naming eight additional sites for conversion by the end of 2026. This transition from microwave transponders to UHF RFID significantly reduces infrastructure costs for the General Directorate of Highways while improving traffic throughput for regional logistics.
